Parent Training and Consultation

All our services include a parent training and consultation component to insure optimal progress for the child. These services are provided to parents and other caregivers. It is of utmost importance that adults in the child’s life learn how to manage behaviors and how to create learning opportunities for the child throughout the day. Parent training takes place in the home environment with or without the child present. Parents and caregivers learn to understand the nature of behaviors, how to increase desired behaviors and decrease challenging behaviors, how to use behavior principles effectively to maintain and increase learning for their child, and how to manage their own apprehensions and anxieties so that they can effectively be present with their children.
